How the planning model works

A shed decision needs clear evidence boundaries.

ShedBuildPlans is a planning system: it helps organize measurements and trade-offs before a purchase or build decision, without presenting generic examples as universal specifications.

  • All layout results are recalculated from the displayed shell, equipment and activity inputs. The public reference and the adopted project use the same evaluator.
  • Workshop packing reserves fixed equipment and standing areas, then checks mobile deployment and bounded orthogonal transport separately. Optional feed sweeps use the entered material length; real tool feeding geometry needs confirmation.
  • Gym results combine floor envelopes with the maximum entered standing, selected equipment and activity height. An open floor does not establish vertical clearance.
  • Bike retrieval keeps all other bike and storage rectangles fixed. Installed wall bays require their own measured projection, height and handling reservation.
  • Growing and dry-storage allocations reserve a service aisle, individual fixtures and any entered partition. Their environmental performance remains unassessed.
  • Candidate decisions retain their reasons. Changing geometry or relevant requirements marks a saved decision for reconfirmation; refreshing an unchanged project does not.
  • Nominal exterior size is treated as a size definition, not usable interior geometry.
  • Example interior, door and representative-object values are D-level planning assumptions and stay user editable.
  • Your measurements take priority for fit screens and Project State summaries.
  • Verified product shells require explicit manufacturer or measurement sources; they are not substituted with generic assumptions.
  • Local siting, delivery, structural design, permits, drainage and installation remain separate verification steps.
