A mower-led storage study with a front shelf you can reach independently. See what fits in the assumed interior, what can come out first, and what changes when the shelf moves.
Original layout study — not a built project. Layout and planning files, not construction drawings.
Original exterior schematic. Styling only: roof, cladding and opening proportions are not construction measurements. Presentation 2026-09-14-presentation-v1; underlying study geometry unchanged.
Is this the right direction?
Consider it when…
A mower is the largest frequently moved item.
You want a small shelf reachable without first moving the mower.
Seasonal supplies can accept a separate retrieval check.
Know the trade-offs
The 20×30 in bin footprint has no independent retrieval or lid-opening check.
The front shelf uses space beside the entrance; moving it back blocks the selected walking approach.
No ramp, turn, exterior staging or door-leaf swing is simulated.

10×12 ft names the nominal shed size. The 112×136 in usable interior and 64×78 in clear opening are separate example inputs. Roof overhang, base outline and wall thickness are not derived from these differences.

54 + 2 + 2 = 58 in; smaller than the 64 in example clear opening.

24 in
Chosen horizontal reservation; reach and accessibility compliance are not assessed.
The usable envelope
The nominal label helps you compare products; it does not tell you how much floor or opening you will receive. This study keeps those measurements separate.
The floor example contains one 54×84×48 in mower, one 18×72×72 in floor-standing shelf and one 20×30×18 in seasonal bin. Nothing is stacked or counted as wall storage.
What this shows: 112 × 136 in example usable interior; 64 in clear front opening. Plan view of the usable envelope. All internal dimensions are editable assumptions.
The mower sits directly behind the centered door. Its straight sweep, including the chosen 2 in allowance on each side, stays inside the 64 in clear opening and misses the other footprints.
The selected 24 in walking route reaches the front shelf while the mower stays parked. These are horizontal geometry checks. Actual driving, turning, shelf reach and exterior conditions still need checking.
What this shows: The 58 in straight sweep is clear; the front shelf also has a clear 24 in approach. Deterministic result for the shown inventory and positions. Seasonal bin retrieval is unassessed.
Move only the shelf toward the rear. The footprints still stay inside the floor, but the chosen approach now crosses the mower.
Keep the front shelf if independent access matters. If you prefer rear storage, accept moving the mower first or test a different arrangement. The bin remains seasonal in both versions.
What this shows: The same shelf now has a walking approach blocked by the parked mower. Only shelf position changes, from y=0 to y=64 in. This failed approach does not prove every rear-shelf layout impossible.
P02 is now available as a 12×16 storage-plus-workshop study. It retains the mower, shelf and seasonal-bin dimensions and adds a rear workbench with a separate standing reservation.
The opening also changes from 64 to 72 in. The mower must move outside before using the P02 bench; additional floor area alone does not establish a usable work area.
The archived P01 PDF describes P02 as planned at the time of that edition. Follow the current P02 project for its work sequence and limits.
What this shows: Same inventory: the 12×16 example leaves more unallocated floor. Interior 112×136 vs 136×184 in; openings 64 vs 72 in. Positions are disclosed in the study. P02 itself is not yet produced.
Original comparison of the authored study inputs. P02 changes both the interior and the clear opening (64 to 72 in), and adds a bench. Move the mower outside before using the standing reservation. These are spatial checks, not construction or operating-clearance approval.
Take the next useful step
Keep the parts that match your task. Confirm these remaining conditions before buying or building:
Measure the widest mower attachment, full length and height.
Confirm usable interior, clear opening and actual door operation with the supplier.
Check the real approach, threshold, ramp, drainage and foundation.
Confirm floor loads, weather exposure and local construction requirements.
Try the supported floor, object and task inputs in your private planner. Illustrated hand tools are not modeled individually. This replaces the working project only after you confirm. Display units are retained; unspecified material, site and quote inputs stay unknown. Save anything you want to keep first.
